Fostering intrinsic motivation in the classroom and the staffroom

Participants will leave his session with a sound and nuanced understanding of Self-Determination Theory of intrinsic motivation and most importantly, how to apply in the classroom. Attendees will develop an understanding of how the teacher can foster motivation and engagement in both students and among fellow teachers. Participants will learn about a host of low-prep, easy to implement, classroom activities based on educational research that are proven to build motivation in the classroom through using student voice and autonomy.
