Maintaining a sense of fun in the "knowledge rich" curriculum

The first part of this session will focus on creative approaches to extended writing, enabling students to produce rigorous essays through engaging methods. The strategies outlined will include project nests, visual writing strategies, continuum lines and matrix grids.
The second half of the session will introduce fresh approaches for imparting subject content and promoting independent research. Such things as QR treasure hunts, “choose your own homework” approaches and the “escape the room” format will be covered. Those teachers who attend the session will hopefully leave with useful resources and strategies that can be immediately employed in their own classrooms.
