Where do our ideas about “progressive” international education come from?

Seven of the pillars of debate (including Bloom's Taxonomy, Cognitive Load Theory, Inquiry-based Learning, Student Agency and Constructivism) may be wise but are they evidence-based?

Are some mere groupthink leading to uncritical acceptance of contemporary ideology, pushing schools, like businesses, to “innovate”, to “shift the paradigm”, and to “disrupt”.

Moving fast and breaking things may not serve education and may instead pander to the interests of IT companies, consultants and publishers.

International schools often challenge a straw-man status quo; it may instead be time to challenge our definition of “progress”.
